Job Description
The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for driving development efforts, on Experian Health priority data science and machine learning initiatives.
- The incumbent will play a key role in new product development, that addresses critical healthcare challenges.
- A strong background in statistics, analyzing large data sets, implementing MLOps best practices, and designing validation experiments, to evaluate feasibility of projects, as well as healthcare revenue cycle industry experience, leading ML product development from project ideation through production is ideal, in this role.
Qualifications
- Degree(s) in Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or other quantitative fields
- 3+ years industry experience in data science and predictive modeling
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data mining techniques, with experience applying them to real-world problems
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment, monitoring, and management in production environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, TensorFlow)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for innovation and continuous learning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making
- Proven ability to work independently on development of models with extremely large and complex data structures
Desired expertise with:
- Strong understanding of healthcare concepts, terminologies, and data standards (e.g., claims/EHR data, ICD, CPT).
- Natural Language Processing, Natural Language Understanding, and the relevant open-source tools
- Bayesian statistical inference and related machine learning methods
- Agile methods for software development
