Acentra seeks a Senior Data Scientist (Hybrid) to join our growing team.

The Senior Data Scientist (Hybrid – Oklahoma City, OK) is responsible for:

This role plays a pivotal role in supporting state and federal health policy initiatives by applying research methodologies and data analysis techniques. You will contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical decision-making tools, aiding in improved healthcare delivery and outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, expertise in healthcare research, and proficiency in various data analysis tools.

** This is a full-time, hybrid position with a need to travel to Oklahoma City, OK, direct-hire opportunity with Benefits. **

Job Responsibilities:

  • Policy and Research Support: Apply health services research and analytics methodologies to inform and support state and federal health policy goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Assist in conducting research, collecting, and analyzing data to enhance the effectiveness of clinical decision-making tools.
  • Analytical Expertise: Provide and support analyses, decisions, and recommendations for complex healthcare issues.
  • Program Evaluation: Utilize scientific and technical knowledge to evaluate programs designed to measure the success of collaborative projects.
  • Collaborative Research: Assist staff, consultants, and biostatisticians in analyzing and reporting findings from case reviews and claims data analysis.
  • Project Design and Evaluation: Contribute to the design of follow-up evaluation mechanisms for collaborative projects and participate in identifying potential research areas and calculating appropriate sample sizes.
  • Communication and Dissemination: Assist in the creation of feedback reports and other publishable documents, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Literature Review: Conduct thorough literature reviews to inform the design of interventions, feedback tools, and data collection instruments.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Develop relationships with health services researchers to strengthen grant competitiveness and contribute to the organization’s reputation in scientific literature. Foster and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $85,000-95,000 annually.

“Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant’s placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.”

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, or Health Services Research, or significant experience with relevant certifications in health analytics.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Strong communication, quantitative, business, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SAS, SPSS, Business Objects, and Access preferred.
  • Ability to function effectively within a team environment with diverse backgrounds.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare systems, particularly state Medicaid and federal program policies and practices.
  • Working knowledge of quality project methodologies desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of claims datasets, including medical, pharmacy, and eligibility data.
