Reporting to the Director, Climate Strategy and Governance, the Senior Manager, Climate Data Strategy will focus primarily on strategy and execution of data-related initiatives in support of RBC’s climate strategy, the RBC Climate Blueprint. The role may also support advancement of other climate commitments – for example including RBC’s goal to allocate $1 billion to support the development and scaling of innovative climate solutions by 2030.

What is the Opportunity?
The Climate Strategy & Governance Team (CS&G) takes a OneRBC approach to own and accelerate RBC’s climate ambition, ensuring strong alignment cross-enterprise on climate-related initiatives, monitoring the external market, managing public engagement, tracking commitments and targets, leading disclosures, driving best practices and thought leadership, and managing a climate funding and resource pool.
Reporting to the Director, Climate Strategy and Governance, the Senior Manager, Climate Data Strategy will focus primarily on strategy and execution of data-related initiatives in support of RBC’s climate strategy, the RBC Climate Blueprint. The role may also support advancement of other climate commitments – for example including RBC’s goal to allocate $1 billion to support the development and scaling of innovative climate solutions by 2030.
What will you do?
- Collaborate closely with the Director, Climate Strategy & Governance and other senior team leaders to provide direct support on various aspects of RBC’s climate data strategy
- Support the delivery of various cross-functional, complex and high-priority climate data initiatives, as an active member of multi-stakeholder project teams with touchpoints across the bank
- Consult with key internal & external stakeholders to understand and assess climate data needs, challenges and opportunities, and recommend actionable proposals
- Prepare and refine compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive meetings, updates, internal working groups and external events
- Support due diligence efforts on climate funds and companies and supply valued subject matter expertise
- Continually scan the external environment to identify relevant industry and technology developments
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 4+ years of professional work experience in management consulting, financial services, sustainability/cleantech or an entrepreneurial environment, or other comparable experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills, to interact across all levels of the organization with impact and influence
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to build relationships with, and act as, a trusted strategic advisor to senior business leaders
Nice-to-have
- Masters in Business Administration or Sustainability or Environmental Sciences or other relevant program demonstrating a solid understanding of strategy
- Deep business knowledge and acumen, with demonstrated experience in corporate strategy, operations, innovation, technology or data
- Knowledge of emerging climate technology and relevant climate concepts such as sustainable/transition finance and financed emissions
- Passion and interest in driving environmental change
