About the Team

Bose is seeking a Senior Research Engineer focusing on acoustics and signal processing to join our Applied Research team within the Automotive Systems Division. Our team’s unique long-range approach requires high level technical vision as well as the ability to focus on the finest theoretical and perceptual details. 

About the Role

In this position, you will be using your expertise in signal processing, acoustics and audio to perform theoretical research that will result in innovative technology targeted at the automotive industry.  You will work with our team to develop an instantiation of your theoretical research for experimentation and demonstration to product division stakeholders and automotive manufacturers.

Responsibilities:

  • Advance the state of the art of audio performance by developing innovations from initial theoretical research to the creation of a first realizable prototype.
  • Extensive collaboration with audio systems and research engineers on the technical and perceptual merits of the innovation.
  • Demonstration of innovation prototype to product division stakeholders as well as external automotive customers.
  • Education of engineering teams to transfer the innovation to product development.
  • This position will require some domestic and international travel.

About You

  • Research experience involving significant new work within the field of acoustics, signal processing and psychoacoustics.
  • Research experience must have involved deep mathematical analysis and modeling.
  • Must be deeply passionate and knowledgeable about audio engineering.

Additional preferred skills:

  • Machine learning proficiency
  • Musical background

    Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional hands on relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields is required
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields is required
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields preferred
