As the Technical Director specializing in Generative AI, you will be a key architect and technical leader, driving the design and development of sophisticated AI systems. Your role will encompass overseeing the implementation of advanced algorithms, guiding the software architecture, and mentoring a high-caliber team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of AI technology and make lasting contributions to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide expert guidance on software architecture, design decisions, and implementation strategies.
    • Lead and inspire a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Algorithmic Excellence:
    • Drive the development and refinement of state-of-the-art generative AI algorithms and models.
    • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate cutting-edge techniques into our systems.
  • System Architecture:
    • Architect scalable and efficient software systems that seamlessly incorporate generative AI components.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Optimize algorithms and models for scalability, efficiency, and real-world deployment.
    • Conduct thorough performance analysis and contribute to optimization strategies.
  • Innovation and Research:
    • Stay at the forefront of generative AI and related technologies, incorporating the latest advancements into our projects.
    • Contribute to research initiatives and explore novel solutions to advance our product offerings.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship:
    • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including machine learning researchers and software developers.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Total industry experience of 15+ years and extensive experience (3+ years) in designing and implementing generative AI solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or Golang(This is a hands-on Coding role)
  • Completed projects using LLMs +/- Langchain
  • Experience with vector databases and semantic search
  • Expertise in the serverless stack, including GraphQL
  • Deep understanding of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws – This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.US Pay Range$223,200—$279,000 USD

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
