Lunit, a portmanteau of ‘Learning unit,’ is a medical AI software company devoted to providing AI-powered total cancer care.
Our AI solutions help discover cancer and predict cancer treatment outcomes, achieving timely and individually tailored cancer treatment.

🗨️About the team

The candidate will work as part of the Product Management team and support the wider AI Platform and AI Research departments. The Product Management team currently consists of a product owner, project manager, and product designer. The team supports the Frontend Engineering, Backend Engineering, and MLOps teams within the AI Platform department to fulfill the needs of customers in the AI Research departments and Medical Affairs departments.

The AI Platform department provides several key tools for AI researchers and medical professionals within Lunit to help accomplish our mission of conquering cancer. The department primarily focuses on radiological and pathological image annotation, data cataloging and management, and data pipelining and automation systems to help internal customer departments move fast to deliver value.

🗨️About the position

The AI Platform Product Designer will work with Lunit’s radiologists, pathologists, AI researchers, product managers, and software engineers to improve the department’s existing tools, add new functionality, and occasionally create new tools. The AI Platform department’s current products can be characterized as drawing and labeling tools and data management tools. The Product Designer will need to have a strong focus on workflow efficiency, usability, and clarity to help AI Platform’s products be successful. They will have the opportunity to work with experts in a variety of fields and share their expertise from their own field.

As the AI Platform department is a back-office department, that is, our customers are other employees of the company, our timelines are mostly under our control. Unlike other industries, crunch time and overwork are very, very rare; however, the development cycle is ongoing. This means your days will be busy, and you generally won’t need to work late.

🚩 Role & Responsibility

  • Conduct interviews, user studies, data checking, and other efforts to understand the needs of AI Platform’s users within and outside the company
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and web UI components for AI Platform department engineers to reference when doing their work
  • Collaborate with AI Platform department engineers to understand technical constraints and negotiate reasonable design choices
  • Identify and evangelize efficiency and quality of life improvements for AI Platform products
  • Collaborate with other members of the Product Management team to help collect requirements to inform designs

Requirements

🎯Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in user experience design (UX/UI/HCI/Graphic design/PM field)
  • Experience using various types of visualization tools (e.g. Figma, FigJam, etc) to depict user flows and designs
  • Experience conducting user interviews and user studies
  • Experience defining and measuring user experience metrics to inform designs
  • Proficient in English (Business Level)
  • Overall understanding of the healthcare industry and passion for artificial intelligence
  • Ability to see beyond users’ words to understand their real needs
  • Ability to comfortably give and receive clear feedback
  • Comfortable working with engineers directly
  • Work experience in cross-functional teams

  • Experience working on tools in machine learning or data collection workflows
  • Proficient in Korean

🤝 Work Conditions and Environment

  • Work type: 8-month Contract
    • This position is a temporary role to fill capacity while a full-time team member is out on maternity leave.
  • Work location : Lunit HQ(5F, 374, Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul)
  • Salary: after negotiation
