We’re enhancing our applications with cloud-native capabilities, including data at scale, edge computing, AI-based solutions, and advanced 3D modeling and graphics. This innovation is happening across our flagship products—AutoCAD, Revit, and Construction Cloud—and Forma, our new Industry Cloud.

As a Software Development Manager for the AEC Solutions group, you will lead your team to build data pipelines to power our work in artificial intelligence, deep learning, generative AI, machine learning, reinforcement learning, information retrieval, and natural language processing. You will coach your team to collaborate across organizations with a versatile group of AI Researchers, ML Engineers, Software Architects, and Experience Designers that are building generative AI tools for the AEC industry. You’ll also help ensure that we maintain privacy and security standards respecting and safeguarding our customers’ data.

Report: You will report to the AI/ML Development Manager in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC Solutions Team).

Location We support hybrid work, and you work near our Boston, Massachusetts or Toronto, Canada offices.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with your team to help understand requirements, evaluate new features, and help drive technology roadmap decisions
  • Build partnerships with technical leads and key individuals within other functional organizations, to provide compelling solutions
  • Build a high-performance culture, mentor team members, and provide your team with the tools to reach their goals
  • You will foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in software development
  • You address organizational and process challenges, applying technical expertise to bridge gaps, streamline operations, and facilitate smooth execution of partnership initiatives
  • Maintain real time knowledge of AI and Data Engineering trends and apply this expertise to improve team performance and product quality
  • Create plans, track and ensure tactical execution and adherence to budgets, schedules, plans, and performance
  • Build the strategy following principles of agile methodology

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a manager
  • Experience managing and resolving complex and ambiguous issues
  • Experience developing scalable and resilient data ingestion and processing pipelines, monitoring and self-healing systems
  • You have experience delivering production applications with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience working with Data Lake or Warehouses, ETLs
  • Experience with modern software practices including Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Experience with Scrum and agile development processes and methodologies
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the AEC industry
  • Familiarity with Autodesk products such as Revit and Forma
  • Experience with cloud-native capabilities, including data at scale, edge computing, and AI-based solutions
