Software Engineer, Core Machine Learning
Job Description
- Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for massive social data and prediction problems.
- Work on a range of
ranking, classification, recommendation, and optimization problems, such as payment fraud, click-through or conversion rate prediction, click-fraud detection, ads, feed, or search ranking,
text or sentiment classification, collaborative filtering or recommendation, or spam detection. - Develop highly scalable systems, algorithms and tools leveraging deep learning, data
regression, and rules-based models. - Suggest, collect, analyze, and synthesize requirements and bottlenecks in technology, systems, and tools.
- Explore state-of-the-art deep learning
techniques. - Receiving general instruction from supervisor, code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team.
- Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern
parallel environments (such as distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU). - Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmaps.
- Lead projects to help
unblock and advocate for ML excellence. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance existing algorithms and create new ones, consistently seeking opportunities to
optimize performance and accuracy. - Elevate your role by leading strategic projects aimed at overcoming obstacles and elevating the overall standard of machine learning excellence within
the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Requires completion of a university
course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following: - 1. Experience with at least one of the following: machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence, or a related technical field
- 2. Reading and writing academic research using LaTex
- 3. Machine Learning Framework(s): PyTorch, Caffe2, or Tensorflow
- 4. Hadoop, HBase, Pig, MapReduce, Sawzall, or Bigtable
- 5. Knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, or shell scripts
- 6. Relational databases and SQL
- 7. Software development tools: Code editors (VSCode, VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Mercury or Git)
- 8. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting.
