Job Summary
The Sr. BI Analyst, Revenue & Strategy will leverage their data analytics and BI experience to work with cross-functional teams to create revenue strategies, analyze key revenue streams, and uncover hidden opportunities for the Los Angeles Kings. This role will develop analytic solutions and actionable KPIs in addition to building reports or statistical models that will optimize ticket pricing, inventory management, and overall business strategy. This position will also participate in strategic pricing efforts, maintain revenue forecasting models, and work closely with stakeholders to align business intelligence initiatives with organizational goals.
Essential Functions
Revenue Recommendations, Research, and Collaborative Analysis:
- Work with the Director of Business Intelligence to forecast and recommend revenue-boosting strategies for ticket sales and service.
- Share insights with other analysts, ticketing leaders, and marketing teams to uncover hidden opportunities.
- Analyze and report on revenue streams with a key focus on ticket sales but also tracking other key KPI’s with merchandise and concessions.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends and benchmark performance against competitors in revenues.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Keep key stakeholders updated on game-related revenue metrics to optimize ticketing resources.
- Make recommendations on ticket revenue, inventory management, dynamic ticket pricing, and report key KPI’s in sponsorships across LA Kings properties.
Reporting, Real-time Analytics:
- Build actionable KPIs and create production quality dashboards and reports using tools like PowerBI, SQL, and Python to communicate business strategy results.
- Develop near-real-time revenue analytics to identify revenue patterns.
- Perform near-real-time analysis of game ticket inventory to allocate and adjust ticket prices.
- Attend games on nights and weekends on an assigned and scheduled basis to assist with real-time gameday reporting
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Ensure delivery and presentation of essential reports to the sales team, including daily sales reports and season ticket renewal trackers.
- Gather requirements, validate data, and enhance insights.
- Act as a liaison between revenue departments and business intelligence, aligning strategies with business objectives.
- Present reports and analysis to stakeholders.
Data Management:
- Work with the Data Engineering team to structure data for analysis and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate findings and next steps to leadership when issues arise.
Strategic Pricing and Forecasting:
- Participate in and help lead annual strategic pricing efforts for season, and single game tickets.
- Develop and maintain revenue forecasting models to support budget planning and financial projections.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to optimize pricing strategies and promotional activities to achieve revenue targets and growth.
- Work with the finance department to support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
Education Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred) Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Analytics
Experience Qualifications
- 4-6 years Related work experience

Experience in an analytical or strategic role across business intelligence, consulting, data science, or analytics team.

Proven experience driving revenue outcomes in a data-driven, agile organization.
- Experience using BI tools like PowerBI and Tableau to help tell your data stories.

Experience building predictive and causal inference models preferred.
- Experience in sports, music industry, or live entertainment preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in dynamic pricing.
- High proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Strategic problem solver who can tackle ambiguous problems using a first principles approach.
- Highly analytical with a strong focus on metrics; able to define KPIs and measure performance.
- Resourceful and proactive; able to find ways to get things done.
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand new topics and skills.
- Enthusiastic about sports and the live event space with an intuitive understanding of marketplace dynamics.
Pay Scale: $74,949 – $90,000
