A Day in the Life:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our data science capabilities. You will lead projects that utilize data to drive decision-making and strategy, particularly in areas such as fleet optimization, operations engineering, ancillary engagement, customer segmentation and experience, and predictive maintenance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights and contribute to the development of data-driven solutions that enhance our competitive edge.

The starting salary for this role is $90K; commensurate with experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced data models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights that influence strategic decisions in fleet management, pricing strategies, and customer retention.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, product, and operations teams to integrate data science solutions into business processes and products.
  • Develop and refine predictive models to enhance forecasting accuracy for demand, asset value, and maintenance schedules.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management, translating complex technical concepts into clear and actionable business strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science to continually improve our capabilities.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data science projects that align with business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: Master’s (preferred) or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering impactful projects, preferably in the rental car, automotive, or transportation industries.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
    • Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
    • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Expertise in working with large datasets and databases (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark).
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of data scientists, driving both individual and collective growth.
