Sr. Project Director (Data Science)

Overview:

• Leading AI-driven Global Supply Chain Solutions Software Product Company and one of Glassdoor’s “Best Places to Work” is seeking a leader that has a strong technical foundation for the product development and engineering team. This leader will have a deep knowledge of AI/ML and be responsible for leading and motivating a team of skilled data scientists to research, design and deliver new capabilities which involve data science, AI/ML and result in a high-quality solution.
• Seeking an astute individual that has a strong technical foundation with the additional ability to drive good engineering practices, manage multiple stakeholders and provide great insights into new developments within the AI/ML field.

Scope:

• Core responsibilities to leading a team of data scientists and working with various product teams to design and develop new solutions using AI/ML
• The incumbent will need to have leadership qualities to also mentor junior and mid-level software associates in our team

Our current technical environment:

• Software: Python, Jupyter notebook, Snowflake, Java
• • Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event-driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
• • Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, HD insight, Application gateway, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
• • Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Springboot, Gradle GIT, Ignite

What you’ll do:

• Lead a team of AI/ML data scientists who will be working on multiple problems in the supply chain space and designing new solutions
• Developing solutions that are fast, scalable, and efficient in terms of cost
• Provide early visibility and mitigation of technical challenges throughout the journey.
• Confidently present opportunities, and ideas and demonstrate progress in alignment with plans and roadmaps

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 15+ years of experience in Software development; ideally a candidate that has significant duration working on the data science and AI/ML space
• Strong programming experience and background
• Demonstrable experience designing, building deploying, and maintenance of solutions on public cloud
• Hands-on development skills along with architecture/design experience;
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience in working with multiple stakeholders and ensuring high visibility into vision, plan, progress, and delivery
