Job Description
The Sustainability Junior Data Analyst will be part of SGS’s Corporate Sustainability team, tasked with integrating sustainability principles throughout the organization, collaborating closely with various functions and divisions to craft the company’s sustainability strategy, setting targets and ensuring its effective execution. Our strategy encompasses a diverse array of projects and initiatives spanning critical social, environmental, and governance aspects of the organization.
As a member of the Corporate Sustainability team, the analyst will play a vital role in developing data analysis tools that facilitate the strategy’s implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Engage in the design and execution of methodologies, procedures, and tools for analyzing sustainability data, including:
- Data collection, processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Identification of areas for continuous improvement.
- Maintenance and regular updates of sustainability databases.
- Support the creation of technical documents, data visualization tools, and communication materials to effectively communicate results and engage stakeholders (affiliates, functions, investors, etc.).
- Contribute to the preparation of precise data sets for both internal and external reporting purposes (Annual Reports, CDP, DJSI, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on a wide array of sustainability-related projects such as energy efficiency, climate change mitigation, and human rights.
Qualifications
- Educational background in disciplines such as Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or any related quantitative field is preferred. Vocational Technical Education is also considered acceptable.
- No previous experience is required but at least 1 year of work experience in data analysis is desirable
- Familiarity with sustainability principles is desirable.
- Good quantitative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, including the development of VBA macros.
- A solid understanding of statistics and data analysis is essential.
- Experience with data visualization techniques and tools, such as Power BI, is advantageous.
- Aptitude for quickly adapting to new tools or applications.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects.
- A collaborative team player with the capability to work independently within diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.
