Full Stack Software Engineer

Tysons Corner, VA.

TS/SCI w/Poly

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Software Engineer should have experience with full-stack development. They will design, develop, code, test, and

debug complex new web applications and micro services or make significant enhancements to existing software. The

ideal candidate is a hands-on software developer with experience with application development to customer

specifications. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and

software development and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions. They must be at ease working in an agile

environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and

innovation.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the

equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

8+ years of related software development experience

 

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1. Hands-on experience with web development using a JavaScript framework (Angular, React)

2. Hands-on experience with application development using Java (Springboot) for web server APIs

3. Experience with a RDBMS (SQL) or a NoSQL data store a plus

4. Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks

5. Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies. This includes participating in daily team stand up

meetings and being an active participant in code reviews and pull requests

6. Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) a plus

7. Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

9. We’re looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of experience and is familiar with the following software/tools:

10. Experience in modern programming languages like JavaScript, Typescript, Node, Java, Python, etc.

11. Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.

12.Experience with building APIs and services using Java spring-boot

13.Experience with Elastic Search and relational databases

14.Experience with UI/UX Design

15.Experience with Angular Typescript is preferable

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Analyze, design and develop web applications, micro services with unit tests

2. Test software development methodology in an agile environment

3. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms

4. Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analyst, project managers and other engineers

5. Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues

6. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

7. Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities
