Role Overview:
As a part of the Customer Success & Transformation Team, the Utility Technology
Specialist enables our utility customers to achieve transformative results using AiDash
software technology. In this role, you will bring your expertise in utility field operations
(vegetation management, asset inspection, climate response, and grid hardening) to
bear when helping our customers get started on their transformation journey, apply our
tech to their business needs, and eventually enable their field workforces to achieve
results with our tech. You will help utility crews change the way they work through
coaching and training on our innovative technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bring deep utility industry field operations expertise to support our Customer
Success & Transformation Managers in understanding customer environments
and operational challenges.
- Assist in fieldwork activities to validate the functionality and effectiveness of our
software solutions in real-world utility settings (e.g., helping plan, inspect, and
execute work along Distribution and Transmission lines).
- Facilitate change management efforts by using insights into the utility industry
and understanding the user base’s needs and concerns (e.g., through discovery
interviews and process mapping).
- Take a proactive approach to training and supporting customers, particularly
frontline workers, in adopting and using our software effectively.
- Embrace the role of representing cutting-edge technologies such as satellites,
remote sensing, and AI in SaaS deployments within the utility industry.
- Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and willingness to travel up to 50%,
including international travel, to engage with customers and support project
activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in operations and maintenance environments within the
utility industry is highly preferred (3-6 years), with a strong understanding of
frontline workers’ roles and challenges, and the ability to have credible and
confidence-building interactions with our utility customers. Specific knowledge
preferred in as many of these topics as possible: vegetation management, asset
inspection, emergency response, electric utility transmission & distribution experience
and grid hardening.
- Enthusiasm and ability to be a champion for SaaS, AI, satellites, and emerging
technologies, with a desire to drive change and innovation in the utility sector,
and humility to learn new technical content in a quickly changing tech
environment.
- Comfort with operating in ambiguity and with less structure, as is needed for a
startup solving problems in innovative ways.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to work
effectively with diverse AiDash teams and customers from various backgrounds
and regions of the world.
- Independently represent the organization in front of customers, showing high
ownership and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
While this role is fully remote, we are ideally targeting candidates that are located within the Central or Mountain time zones with easy access to an airport due to the travel required.
