We’re looking for a dynamic VP of Technology & Data Architecture to revolutionize our tech frameworks and drive innovation at Knix. This key leadership role will be instrumental in enabling our high-growth omnichannel business (eCommerce, Retail) by building the technology roadmap for today and the future! In this role, you’ll oversee our core technology teams, spearhead architectural strategies, foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, and lead various initiatives that support the unlocking across all of our channels. Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, implementing, and coordinating efficient and effective architectural frameworks, guidelines, and procedures across all technology domains.
  • Provide direct leadership and implement a culture of collaboration and procedures for continuous improvement in functions such as: software engineering, enterprise architecture, data architecture, technology architecture, infrastructure, and eCommerce technology.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IT disciplines to architect, design, and build scalable, and resilient platforms, APIs, and applications that align with business needs.
  • Supporting the build and maintenance of existing and new technologies to help support the company’s growing eCommerce as well as Omni-Channel business
  • Build a technology roadmap that supports the long term plan of the business, this includes optimizing the current omni-channel tech stack to support future scale and growth
  • Creating and maintaining an integrated, up-to-date source of truth for all technology-related data.
  • Develop and execute our cybersecurity strategy, and act as a strategic partner to senior leaders by proactively identifying opportunities for innovation, improvement, and growth.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to improve Knix’s technology landscape’s efficiency, agility, and security.
  • Developing, aligning, and updating Knix’s overall technology strategy and associated documents, linking technology strategy to critical business outcomes and ensuring real business problems are the focus of all initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 12 + years of experience leading medium to large-scale technology functions, preferably in a retail/brick-and-motor omnichannel environment 
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in building and leading teams across Enterprise Applications, Architecture, Infrastructure, Cloud Solutions, and Security
  • Background with eCommerce platforms (Shopify 2.0, or Headless Hydrogen is considered a strong asset)
  • Experience in the Digital and eCommerce space and in a senior technical leadership role
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex and technical information into business terms
  • Expert understanding of software delivery lifecycle with packaged software and in-house developed software
  • Strong understanding of enterprise practices, including backlog management, continuous development, quality assurance, automation, observability & alerting)
  • Experience with next-generation technologies to build digital experiences and capabilities 
  • In-depth understanding of capital and operational budget planning and management
