Your Impact: As the VP of Data Analytics you will launch and build out the Data Science & Insights (DSI) team which will drive EvolutionIQ’s strategic evolution, ensuring that data-driven insights lead to the prioritization of high-value projects and operations. Acting as the company’s analytical conscience, this team will evaluate project viability and potential based on rigorous data analysis, historical performance, and high ROI potential. 

What You’ll Achieve (Performance Outcomes)

  • Build and manage the DSI team an internal CoE which will provide data-driven insights to leadership and stakeholders for a wide range of areas. The effectiveness and outcomes this team will deliver include but are not limited to the following: Influence on Project Prioritization, Accuracy of Historical Insights, ROI Measurement Accuracy, and Impact of Experimental Insights.
  • Through in depth data analysis, provide accurate and defendable ROI measurement & attribution, which underpin the integrity of our insights and recommendations.
  • Present results to internal stakeholders as well as our clients in the insurance industry
  • Build, own, and standardize client-facing analysis and reporting on existing products across multiple clients and ROI dimensions.
  • Ensure the team builds high quality, reproducible and reusable analytics
  • Continue to grow and learn in the data & analytics space, focusing on business problems that require making sense of large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Oversee the integration of cross-organizational projects, drive improvements and recommendations, and define operational goals and objectives.
  • Provide direction and accomplish results for business leaders through solving hard measurement problems that impact business bottom line.

About You (Key Competencies):

  • 10+ years of data analysis/quantitative experience, preferably in a technology or software development environment. 
  • 3+ years directly managing a team of Data Scientists/Analyst (or similar) that has provided key analysis and insights to the business.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of statistics, linear & non-parametric modeling, and advanced SQL engineering experience. 
  • Designed, implemented, and analyzed A/B or multi-arm experiments with clear recommendations for product direction & development.
  • Proficient in the use of Python, pandas, Jupyter notebooks, and SQL-based analytics dashboards (e.g., Google’s DataStudio / Looker or Tableau), and familiarity with standard statistical packages and visualization tools in Python. 
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Proven understanding of Product and Business analytics, fundamentals, and processes
  • Proven ability to synthesize data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Proven ability to handle large datasets via SQL and/or map-reduce analytics and data aggregation as needed.
  • Master’s degree or higher in statistics or related quantitative fields is highly preferred.

  • Compensation: The salary range is 250-275K with flexibility, depending on a candidate’s background and experience plus meaningful equity (stock options)
