We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of LLM/ Generative AI research. With the rise of Language Model Learning, there is significant potential to enhance the ability of personal assistants to fill in gaps that humans can naturally comprehend. Your work as an outstanding computer science/ full-stack all-rounder will be integral to maintain and advance our research platform, designed for cross-functional teams prototyping cutting-edge LLM advancements in a fully operational, LLM-enhanced in-vehicle personal assistant.

 

What awaits you?

  • Engage in core development activities using Python, incorporating LLM libraries and Pydantic to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Work on improve the platform across multiple programming languages and frameworks such as Android Automotive, Azure PubSubs, and various internal APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency and efficacy.
  • Implement and maintain robust CI/CD practices with Git Actions, keeping the platform reliable and up-to-date with the latest advancements.
  • Solve complex problems and devise innovative solutions to enhance the LLM capabilities of our in-vehicle personal assistant.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Enrollment in a Master’s program in Computer Science or a related field with experience in python and full-stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with familiarity in core development frameworks such as, Pydantic, async API calling and testing.
  • A strong background in at least one full-stack/front-end language for small adjustments.  
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure or other cloud platform deployments integrating with CI/CD tools like Git.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a technical outstanding research and development team, contributing innovative ideas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for effective teamwork and documentation. German is a plus.
