The Lab conducts research on the state-of-art AI technologies to build the foundation for the intelligent operations and management of Autonomous Driving Networks.

As a Senior AI researcher your knowledge and experience in designing and building intelligent systems will be applied to the areas of network control and parameter optimization. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated AI researcher with a solid theoretical background and practical experience in large-scale Reinforcement Learning and Discrete / Continuous Optimization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify the state-of-art (both in industry and in academic literature) of AI technologies for solving problems in the domain of optimal control and multi-objective optimization for Autonomous Driving Networks.
  • Contribute to iterative development of validated software prototypes based on AI technologies, and benchmark alternative solutions.
  • Work closely with Domain Experts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists in realizing the goals of the project.

Requirements

  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • 1+ years of industrial or post-doctoral research experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • Strong practical experience with large-scale Reinforcement Learning / Approximate Dynamic Programming (i.e. Model-free, Model-based, Partially observable environments).
  • Strong practical experience with large-scale discrete / continuous optimization (i.e., combinatorial optimization, integer programming, constraint programming, linear programming, meta-heuristics).
  • Experience with multi-objective control and optimization solution methods.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Practical experience with the use of RL / Optimization frameworks (i.e., OpenAI Gym, Google Dopamine, RLLib, Keras-RL, TensorForce, Google OR tools, PuLP, PyMOO).
  • Problem solving ability, and demonstrated ability to develop new algorithms and methodologies from leading open source initiatives and research papers.
  • Publication track records in conferences and journals, including, but not limited to, ICLR, ICML, ECML, NIPS, AAAI, IJCAI, IJCNN is a plus.
  • Experience with Neural Networks for sequence and graph data is a plus.
