The 2025 Full Time Analyst – Data Engineer will perform a variety of activities, which may include:
- Apply advanced machine learning methods to conduct data-driven research, identify opportunities, and make tangible recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities for process optimization and informed decision-making and build innovative solutions.
- Work with structured and unstructured data and prepare data sets for machine learning through integration, cleaning, feature engineering, scaling and transforming data
- Build production-scale solutions and work with deployment teams to integrate in business operations
- Leverage visualization methods to represent results and communicate outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must have an Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or Data Analytics or related.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills as well as a passion for analytics are necessary.
- Experience with analyzing large data sets, drawing insights and inferences, and communicating outputs.
- Experienced in one or more of:
- Big Data – Programming, Data/Text Mining, Optimization, Algorithm Development, Automation, Data Visualization, Simulation
- Machine Learning – Predictive Analytics, Regression, Logit Modeling, Discrete Choice, Propensity Modeling, Natural Language Processing.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with one or more of: R, Python, Spark, SQL, SAS, Java, or C/C++
- Technical knowledge or experience with Hadoop and Cloud environments as well as experience with Data Management, and Project Management are a plus.
- Must have strong leadership qualities including demonstrating initiative, establishing priorities and using strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to add value to each initiative, project or team assigned to.
- Able to participate as part of a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to improve decisions, processes, systems, and applications which support our key businesses.
- Remain current with emerging trends and technologies in Data Science
How You Will Contribute
- Participate on a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to develop new functionality, improve processes, systems and applications which support our key businesses at TD Securities.
- Produce high quality code for various initiatives and ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in peer code reviews.
- Develop new applications/solutions with consistent quality standards; provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment.
- Work with technologies such as: JavaScript, Angular, React, SQL, NoSQL, C++, C#, Java, Scala, Python, NodeJS, RESTful APIs, Hadoop stack (HBase, HDFS), Spark API (DataFrame, DataSet), enterprise integration patterns and messaging systems (Kafka, ZeroMQ), etc.
- Full Time Analyst – Data Engineer typically work on Financial Securities-related Technology projects such as: trade capture, real-time derivatives pricing & risk mgmt., PNL, quant modeling, algo execution & hedging, big data analytics, electronic trading & STP, valuations, etc.
- Full Time Analyst – Data Engineer will typically learn about financial products (no prior financial knowledge is required!) such as: equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives, FX spot & derivatives trading (market making, algo trading & hedging), fixed income, credit derivatives, commodity derivatives, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), etc.

· Builds an understanding of the businesses and Customers the role supports.
· May answer and direct incoming calls internally and externally.
· Provides support for Manager and other areas, as indicated.
· May assist in completing various departmental projects/reports.
· May assist in the Preparation of specific schedules related to the monthly/quarterly/yearly reports or projects.
· Analyzes specific accounts.
· Assists in the preparation of specific federal and state returns.
· Assists with projects.
· Assists in the audit requests.
· Assists with operational and administrative functions.
· May support or partner with several business functions/areas/departments.
· Participates in various projects and tasks, as assigned
Education & Experience:
· High School Diploma required.
· Currently enrolled in 4-year college program or post graduate program
· 3.2 GPA or higher preferred
· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated leadership qualities.
· Good written and oral communications skills
· Detail oriented and self-motivated
· Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work in an office environment.
· You must be work authorized in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
· Anticipated graduation between December 2024 – June 2025 preferred.
