Job Description
We’re looking for a Data Specialist to join the AML Reporting team in Tallinn. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission, grow as a lead and help save millions more people money.
Your mission:
This role is an opportunity to help drive something really meaningful – solve problems in the fincrime fighting team with developing operational data visualisations and analysing various data sets.
Your mission is to support our insights and understanding of FinCrime Operations demand and supply, scaling and growth situation across all of our teams, helping us make smarter choices about how we increase our SLA/KPIs, understand better where our work comes from and prepare for the future.
The longer term opportunity is to grow into an Analytics function or level up to strong product-minded operational leadership roles.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing:

First and foremost, building and maintaining meaningful data insights of the AML reporting-related Operations, bringing out what impacts of our way of handling our work

Gathering and analysing information together with presentations to operations’ and domain specific analyses and assessments and review data consistently in Looker visuals;

Proactively identifying, quantifying and addressing problem areas in operational data and processes and present them to the operations’ and product team

Verifying operational data insights with information and sanity checking and running recurring data health-checks;

Creating visibility to the team’s workload and efficiency in production. Monitoring them and highlight issues and opportunities consistently;

Collaborating with team leads/members on scalability plan and short term problem solving, supporting initiatives with data;

Building and ensuring that the operational team has KPIs visibility and insights to changes affecting operational work – collaborating with Ops analyst to ensure consistency;

Supporting product initiatives with data and align your work with the team’s actions;

Collaborate and contribute to quarterly plannings;

Support the launch of new markets and licenses with data insights;

Develop and maintain the process documentation within its own area and ensure knowledge spaces are ready and up to date;
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate you will ideally have advanced SQL skills and have experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) and are able to demonstrate storytelling ability with data.
In addition, you have excellent communication skills both in verbal and written skills in English. More specifically, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate they have these attributes:

Theory. You are well versed working with different data sets. Ideally you have previous work experience to demonstrate it.

Practice. You have a demonstrable experience of analysing information. You have at least a Bachelor’s degree. You are comfortable articulating and justifying your decisions with data and working independently.

Passion. You are curious and proactive by nature, you love solving problems and you get a kick out of figuring things out and enjoy expressing your thoughts concisely and logically.

Get the job done. You have a sense of urgency and ability to work well under pressure, prioritising, taking ownership and working to tight deadlines.

Detail. You have meticulous attention to details, enjoy interpreting data to make decisions.
