DAT is seeking an Analytics Consultant to join our Data and Analytics team working hybrid in Denver, Colorado; Beaverton, Oregon; or remote Seattle, Washington

The Opportunity

The Analytics Services group generates and retains revenue by providing bespoke data solutions that go beyond products, addressing gaps and automating integration with customer workflows. As subject matter experts, we recommend appropriate solutions, contextualize metrics within industry landscapes, and provide insightful market analyses. This team is one of two pillars with Data Science that rolls up to the Chief of Analytics at DAT.

What You’ll Do
The introductory position in this career ladder focuses on learning how DAT products service the industry through internal and external stakeholder interactions; recommending data points to external customer workflows; being the resource for data feed development to those consumers; as well as researching, developing, and suggesting novel data feeds and metrics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Sales and DAT principal analysts to deliver industry insights, visualizations, and data for use by customers and in external publications
  • Address ambiguous customer problems and formulate hypotheses into actionable and well-designed experiments using
  • Work closely with external customers to rapidly develop custom data solutions
  • Represent DAT publicly as a subject matter expert during on-site and off-site customer meetings and trade shows
  • Proactively explore data and identify opportunities to help accelerate product development or improve existing products
  • Ensure existing and developing data feeds maintain scope, quality, and roadmap alignment throughout their life cycle
  • Act as a resource for increased knowledge within the company and the industry about DAT’s products and services
  • Work with Product Development to scale and develop successful prototypes into formal company offerings

The Skills You’ll Need

  • Experience working in the freight logistics space
  • 1-3 years of experience in an analytical role
  • Academic or professional experience in quantitative fields of study such as
    mathematics, statistics, computer science, or data science
  • Ability to contextualize relatively sophisticated statistical and technical concepts with
    customers and colleagues at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to use large datasets for creative data visualization efforts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of relational databases and data structures
  • Fluency with SQL and a programming language (Python, R, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Fluency with a business intelligence platform (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $85,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
