Job Description

Unmind is the leading workplace wellbeing platform, on a mission to create mentally healthy workplaces where employees can flourish.

Grounded in science and built for enterprise, we drive people-first performance at some of the world’s biggest brands, including Uber, Major League Baseball, NHS, Disney, Standard Chartered, Mediacom and British Airways.

Our services support the whole organisation with data-driven performance insights for leaders, training for managers, wellbeing tools for all employees, as well as access to a global network of accredited mental health practitioners.

Our internal standards are as high as those of our clients. We’re an ambitious VC backed software business on the exhilarating 10-100M phase of our growth journey. It’s hard and rewarding work and we’re determined to be our very best case study along the way.

Unmind believe high performance will hinge on the powerful harmony between our relentless drive for results and creating an environment that elevates our people’s wellbeing. This wouldn’t be possible without a dedication to our core values:

  • Be Human
  • Grow Your Mind
  • Innovate at Speed
  • Inspire & Impact

The Role – Analytics Engineer

The core mission of data analytics is to provide actionable insights to all Unmind Teams that drive product and business decisions that build the best version of Unmind.

As an Analytics Engineer within our team you contribute to this mission by translating business needs into accurate and scalable datasets, uncovering actionable insights through analysis, and, to a lesser degree, building purposeful visualisations within reports that surface relevant trends.

In this role you’ll get to:

  • Own – You will take the architectural lead for the key data models in the company, and guide your team in finding the right balance between technical excellence and delivery of value that brings you closer to your team’s North Star.
  • Build – You will build high performance and reusable data models for our data warehouse to ensure end-users are performing analysis with data that is accurate and intuitively structured
  • Collaborate – You will engage with different departments (e.g. Product and Marketing) to identify opportunities for leveraging and expanding the organisation’s data assets in order to inform business solutions
  • Empower – You will empower teams and decision-makers across the organization by developing sophisticated data models that enable advanced analytics. By ensuring these models are both scalable and intuitive, you will facilitate deeper data exploration and analysis, driving insights that inform strategic decisions and operational efficiencies. This role is pivotal in enhancing our data-driven culture, encouraging the use of complex analytical techniques to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and guide informed business actions.

Skills and Experience

We encourage you to remove education from your CV upon application as qualifications are not a driving factor in our decision making and we are committed to tackling educational inequality. We firmly believe that no one is the finished article and that there should be learning in every role you do. However, some experience in the following is important for this position:

  • Advanced SQL skills to clean, transform and validate data from Data warehouses or Data Lakes (with either the experience or the appetite to learn of doing so in dbt)
  • Experience and knowledge in data warehousing and data modelling best practices
  • Experience in effectively using Tableau or similar BI reporting tools to provide actionable insights to business teams
  • Ability to understand & translate business requirements into analytical projects while building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in an small cross-disciplinary team where you will be the subject expert.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment with good data analytics standards (e.g. coding and analytics best practices, PR reviews,…)
  • Passion for mental health, tech-for-good, and generally improving people’s lives.
