THE JOB
As an Analytics Engineer Level 2 at Decathlon UK, you will play a crucial role in delivering modelled datasets for a business domain, ensuring the quality, availability, monitoring, and accessibility of these datasets. You will contribute to accelerating use cases and promoting Self-Service Analytics across the organization. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, user-centric focus, teamwork, and a continuous improvement mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Automating and industrializing data transformation pipelines used for dashboards, AI models, and data analyses.

Building and modelling the semantic layer of business domains (commerce, supply, sports, etc.);

Defining the strategy of our technical stacks and ensuring the quality of exposed data;

Maintaining and rethinking existing datasets and pipelines to serve a wider variety of use cases;

Enabling intelligent analytics by building robust, reliable, and relevant datasets;

Actively contributing to our community of analytics engineers and data engineers;
TECHNICAL SCOPE:
– Data platform: Amazon Web Services, Databricks, Glue, S3
– Programming: SQL, Python, Scala
– Data orchestration: Airflow
– Data modelling: DBT
– Data quality: great_expectations
– Software Delivery: Git, Github, Make
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

You have at least 3 years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer, or 5 years in Data Analysis having already experienced data engineering.

Significant experience with one of the major Clouds: AWS / GCP / Azure, knowing how to use components (Databricks, Hive, Redshift, Airflow) and optimize their performance.

Proficiency in the following languages: SQL and/or Python;

Experience in dimensional modelling (Kimball, Data Vault, OBT);

Mastery in implementing data transformation pipelines with DBT

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in our LDN office (Surrey Quays)
