We are growing our team in Data, Digital Sales and Engagement (DDSE) Norway. We are looking for a person that loves working with data and analysis to join our existing Analytics team. We are a group of specialists in various fields; everything from digital marketing and content production to web analysis and data science. Collectively, we are responsible for engaging new and existing personal customers in digital channels, and driving sales via online/mobile banking and nordea.no.

About this opportunity
 

This is a role within PeB Analytics Norway for Data, Digital Sales and Engagement (DDSE). 

 

In DDSE, we are building the omnichannel customer journey seamless experience and for that we need to connect different data sources across our platforms and applications. We want to send relevant personalised messages to our customers offering the right product or service, in the right channel, at the right time. We are looking for a curious, driven Analytics Engineer that is responsible for structuring data into a data model so that different users within the team can work with it an have the same starting point. You will be providing clean, accurate and high quality datasets. These tasks are crucial part of implementing our Data and Analytics Strategy. 
 
Joining the team will provide you with opportunities to use your experience with data management, data analysis, data engineering and business analysis, to support data-savvy end-users. 

What you’ll be doing

As an analytics engineer, you will empower end users to answer their own questions regarding product portfolio analysis, single customer view, campaign development, amongst others. You will be working on setting up clean data sets and data modelling/structure that allows us to have the same view across departments. This means making use of the infrastructure available in Nordea to write data transformation jobs through code and create reusable data assets for business analysts and data scientists that get updated in an automated way with a given frequency. 
  

In addition you will be:  

  • Extracting the underlying data from existing databases and centralize it in a local area. 
  • Writing (complex) data transformations in SQL, using the available data build tools in Nordea, that will create the metrics needed for the analysts. 
  • Using Python for data orchestration services. Analysing data and building or supporting the development of reports in BI tools (PowerBI).
  • Documenting the process for building the different data sets to ensure a high quality foundation for data analysist/scientists. Maintaining data documentation and definitions.
  • Applying software engineering best practices to analytics code (version control, testing, continuous integration). 
  • Collaborating very close with Data Scientists and Business requestors within PeB Norway and Nordic counterparts
  • Participating actively in discussions within Digital Sales teams for expanding the usage of data in marketing campaigns. 
  • Analysing existing data sources and its quality.

Your experience and background: 

  • Academic degree in highly quantitative discipline or specialisation such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Software Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in data-driven landscapes. Ideally you have experience as a data engineer and have discovered the business aspect, or you have been working as a data analyst and have strong tech experience. 
  • Strong SQL skills, applied knowledge of Python and/or R. You have used dbt and are able to be independent to drive it in house. 
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices and apply them to analytics code. 
  • Experience with GIT. 
  • Share “make it happen attitude” – have a proactive, innovative and can-do oriented mind-set with the ability to convert new ideas into concrete actions
  • Proficient in written and spoken Norwegian and English. (Minimum accepted passed B2, ideally C1/C2)

 

Your application will benefit from demonstrating experience in the below:

  • You know your ways around tools like Snowflake, Git, visualization tool such as Power BI (DAX and developer)
  • You understand the principles of working with an Agile development approach.
