Job Description
United States (Hybrid)Join Nokia as an Applied R&D Manager to lead our US NTAS development team, overseeing product development and support, and ensuring timely, high-quality feature delivery through Mode of Operation (MOO) processes. This role involves close collaboration with global teams, external stakeholders like product managers, quality, and PST, and supporting the Architecture team and customer organizations. You will manage team members at our Naperville site, with an expectation of on-site presence, and play a crucial role in developing training plans for new hires.

Your responsibilitiesFollows MOO (mode of Operation) processes which includes following the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) process to deliver features. A large part of the responsibility is working closely with the R&D Leader and Release Train Engineer to slot features into a release. Uses knowledge on how the job contributes to the corporate goals and higher level organization goals to increase own effectiveness.
Able to prioritize work so the team is able to make commitmentsDevelop concepts to set the direction of own organizational unit. Ensure the team is able to deliver on their R&D commitments and provide regularly updates to the Project Management Team.
This means helping serve as the Scrum Master for a portion of the team. Often leads functional teams or projects with considerable resource requirements, risk, and complexity, handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work. Sc. or M. Sc.
in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification, with at least 8–10 years of relevant work experience. Strong knowledge of software development, testing, and engineering principles.
