About the role:
The purpose of the role is for overseeing the organization, storage, and utilization of data related to the assets of a company or organization. This role involves working with various departments to ensure that accurate and up-to-date information about assets such as equipment, conditions or financial investments is maintained. The role supports the engineering teams to develop and apply new practices and insights to implementing safe, sustainable and efficient asset management plans in accordance with the business’s strategic objectives and goals.
The role is critical for optimizing the performance, reliability, and value of an organisation’s assets through effective data management practices. This will support the development of data specifications, data analysis, reporting and modelling.
What you’ll deliver:
• Develop and lead data specifications across multiple teams focusing on the need of data to drive asset management decisions
• Support 5-year economic price reset process by providing asset managers with validated models and data to present well justified business cases and models to achieve stakeholder expectations.
• Lead reviews with asset managers to provide data to identify trends in failure, notification and condition analysis aiming to achieve improved performance and risk management practices.
• Advanced skills in data analysis in T Statistics and P Value analysis to drive outcomes in asset management decisions
• Identify trends with assets that are either currently operating outside of defined condition and performance thresholds, or at risk of breaching these thresholds
• Provide high levels of effective stakeholder management and communication skills to successfully manage interfaces with a range of individuals and groups including customers, maintenance, design, delivery and operational groups, government, external stakeholders, developers, consultants and industry bodies to ensure business outcomes are achieved
• Mentor and coach team members and peers to develop knowledge and skills of the team to meet current and future workload requirements
• Actively work to keep pace with technical and regulatory change in the industry, assessing the impacts of changes to codes, regulations or rules and undertaking analysis to determine the impacts of any change on the business will have on these models
• Lead and oversee tests of the effectiveness of these models.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, statistics, data analytics or relevant field
• Extensive demonstrated experience in developing asset data management and risk based modelling
• Previous experience in managing and leading business initiatives and introducing effective change management initiatives in a team focused environment
• Demonstrated experience in technical report writing and business justifications including business cases and presentation of reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Extensive experience and ability to analyze data from various sources and combine technical expertise, critical thinking, and effective communication to leverage data for strategic decision-making and driving positive outcomes.
• Extensive knowledge of statistical data models and techniques
• Use of python or Minitab or advanced Excel to perform data analysis
• Detailed knowledge of SAP, Tableau, OMS and Business Objects
