Founded in 1998, Gracenote is one of America’s most iconic and respected media companies. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Metadata Production team.
ABOUT THE ROLE The Assistant Manager will lead and manage teams responsible for the ingestion of data and proofing of content to ensure product deliveries and deadlines are met. This includes establishing effective communication methods within the team and to other groups. This person will be responsible for building and maintaining high performance, quality focused teams with a positive culture.The role will involve management of team workloads, task assignments, rollout of processes and workflows, people management, and the overall smooth functioning of the operation. This person will be responsible for ensuring quality, coverage, and reliability of metadata ingested into the Gracenote database product. This person will also develop tools and processes to collect, measure and report the performance data, and use that data to improve quality and productivity metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership for day-to-day operations and customer projects in accordance with established goals and budgets.
- Proactively identify and implement efficiencies to improve workflows within the team/department.
- Manage and distribute workloads for the team or teams assigned. Prioritize team and individual tasks, and delegate accordingly to meet deadlines.
- Actively provide coverage solutions for public holidays, after hours, and unexpected peak loads if required.
- Evaluate staff and assign them to the most suitable projects.
- Develop processes and tools to measure, assess and report the team’s performance.
- Own responsibility for training of staff, and provide feedback and guidance during and after shifts.
- Maintain effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Work on and/or lead internal projects as required and assigned.
- Manage the annual associate goal process and end of year reviews, ensure these are completed in full by the required deadlines.
- Conduct annual and non-scheduled performance appraisals to provide employees with ongoing feedback on performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Any Graduate.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
- Multitasking ability, and high attention to detail.
- At least one year experience as a team lead.
- Confidence, and an ability to work in a self-directed and fast-paced environment.
- Ready to work in a 24/7 operation, including evening, night and weekend shifts.
- Excellent keyboarding skills expected.
- Knowledge of international TV shows, and the media sector in general, is desirable.
- The role is hybrid, so you must live near Nielsen’s office. Hybrid Workers are those employees who are working partially from home which is in the same city as the Nielsen office they are employed with and partially from a Nielsen office / site.
