About the Analytics Team:

The Analytics Team handles terabytes of data to help us understand our users and learn about content trends. They are responsible for collecting, processing and organizing large and complex datasets in order to generate actionable insights and help various teams at Viki make data-driven decisions.

The Analytics Team is looking for an Associate Data Analyst. This role is based in Singapore and will report to the Director of Analytics. This role will work with Product Managers and other business stakeholders across functions, playing a crucial part in driving Viki’s growth.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as a strategic partner to a set of stakeholders to facilitate data-driven planning and decision-making in their respective areas

  • Analyse large and complex data sets that represent the behaviour of millions of users globally

  • Utlilise dbt to build and maintain data transformation workflows.

  • Conduct in-depth analyses using the vast amount of data available to help drive growth and derive actionable insights for our stakeholders

  • Work closely with Product Managers, design A/B experiments, and optimize future product developments

  • Leverage business intelligence tools to design and build dashboards to facilitate self-service of data

  • Manage data quality and lifecycle, working with data engineers to ensure data integrity and availability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline

  • 0-2 years of experience in data analysis

  • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries

  • Familiarity with dbt and its functionalities in data transformation  

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Basic understanding of the usage and interpretation of statistical methods

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of independence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For data modeling: R, Python

  • For data processing: Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka, Redshift, BigQuery, Spark

  • For data visualization: Looker, Amplitude, Tableau, Qlikview, Holistics

  • Fluent in technical aspects and able to use technical language with Data Engineers as well as business language with Marketing stakeholders

  • Understanding of Subscription-Based business model & metrics is an added advantage
