Job Description
We’re looking for a Product Data Manager/Owner to join our team of software and AI/ML engineers as we build our Private Markets content.
Our team lives within the Content Refinery unit which provides the most comprehensive and connected inventory of client, proprietary and third-party content in the industry. The Content Refinery produces a suite of connected content with extensive data hierarchy and taxonomy. Our team represents the private market content sets from this unit which are leveraged by our internal partners to build next-generation workflows for our clients.
You’ll be joining the Private Markets Content group which is responsible for defining, collecting, and generating the content set for Private Companies. This data powers the products that our private equity, venture capital and sell side clients use to analyze their investments in Private Companies (e.g., sourcing, due diligence, and fundraising).
Role Description:
As the Product Data Manager, you will convert business strategy and client needs into the vision that powers our data and a product roadmap and work closely with our AI/ML Engineering teams to execute on that roadmap.
You will work with internal stakeholders to understand the content expansions that will create the most impact for our clients and then translate them into the overall vision. You will then help break down the vision into a roadmap of themes, epics, stories, bugs, and acceptance criteria. That overall vision will guide our AI/ML team in building the models and pipelines that identify and structure this content to make the most impact for clients.
Responsibilities:
Defining your Work:
- Translate stakeholder needs into a backlog of work to be refined into user stories that state the functional expectations and reasoning for how it impacts our clients.

- Make visible all the work that needs to be completed by your team to deliver major features and deliverables from the backlog.
Tracking Progress of your work:
- Define and report metrics to provide transparency for progress against the product roadmap.
- Surface or anticipate hidden project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
- Synchronize with other product owners and internal team leads to identify obstacles and dependencies, working to remove them through negotiation and escalation.
- Communicate with Stakeholders, other Product Owners, and Engineering teams to ensure the vision and goals for Private Markets Content is understood. Ensure buy-in is achieved on all major decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, business, math, or computer-related field
- 3+ years of product management experience on a data team or similar role managing content data sets.
- Team player attitude with a strong desire to learn about Private Markets Content and PE/VC.
- A keen interest to learn from and work with engineers to apply AI/ML to real world data.
- A solid understanding of financial valuation
- Understand and derive Market valuations: e.g., identify peer groups, market multiples, industry betas, capital structures, and business models for various groups of industries.

- General knowledge of data environments (warehouses, lakes, pipelines, mapping, ETLs…).
- Analytical skills and data driven mindset that can be hands-on when needed with data analysis (Excel, PowerQuery, PowerBI, SQL)
