Introduction to Role:

Join our Global Enterprise Architect (GEA) Team, where we are responsible for the global development of AstraZeneca Integration/ API products. We work closely with teams across Business Technology Group (BTG – Business Unit) IT teams, Research and development, data governance teams, and SET Area (Line of Business) & Data Offices (SEDO). Our focus is on enterprise Integration architectures with a focus on enterprise API/ Gateway/ Streaming architecture, information architecture, data modelling, and data analysis.

Accountabilities:

As an Associate Director – Enterprise Integration Architect, you will design and develop scalable API solutions, collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts. You will set best practices, guidelines, and standards for API development. You will also ensure APIs are secure, efficient, and easy to use. You will troubleshoot and resolve API performance issues, maintain and update API documentation, conduct code reviews and provide feedback to development teams.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Data Science or AI engineering or related field.

  • Experience in leading and delivering enterprise Integration / API platform architectural thinking, and its practical application.

  • Experience in the use of conceptual and logical data modelling technologies.

  • Experience in defining and working with information and data regulatory governances.

  • The role holder will possess a blend of data/information architecture, analysis, and engineering skills.

  • Experience in known industry IT architectural patterns and IT architecture ways of working/methodologies (e.g. Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q and Sagemaker).

  • Understands Integration / API Platforms concepts and cloud-based containerization strategies for hybrid cloud environments.

  • Understanding the appropriate Integration / API structure and technology based on business use case and completely familiar with Integration / API lifecycles.

  • Post-graduate degree in MIS, AI

  • Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.

  • Experience with API management tools like Apigee, Postman, or Swagger.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience with API security protocols like OAuth, JWT, and SSL.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Strong understanding of data formats like JSON and XML.

  • Experience with version control systems like Git.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.

  • Experience with API testing frameworks.

  • Knowledge of data protection regulations like GDPR.
