Salary Range:       $58,092.08 – $63,511.26

Location:               Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (Hybrid Work, 3 days in office)

The opportunity

TVO is recruiting for an Automated Test Developer to develop automated tests in support of the assigned TVO digital products to ensure that they run smoothly.  Use of a wide variety of Development languages and technologies is required.

How you will make an impact

  • Develop, execute and maintain automation test suites
  • Analyze automated test failures and escalate to respective development teams.
  • Collaborate with QA team members and cross-functional teams to understand the requirements and ensure test cases are comprehensive and effective
  • Adhere to the established coding standards and practices to ensure the quality and maintainability of the test automation code
  • Develop, execute and maintain non-functional tests (e.g. performance, load, security)
  • Stay abreast of trends in software, web and mobile testing practices including conducting research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of testing efforts.
  • Create and maintain specifications and documentation as directed
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic issues
  • Attention to detail and ability to create effective test cases

What you will bring to TVO

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with automated testing tools in Web Applications
  • Proficiency in writing test scripts using Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience writing front-end and back-end automated tests, leveraging the latest technology, including data analytics and machine learning technologies.
  • Experience with Test Automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Playwright or Cypress
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
  • Experience in mobile application testing (Android/IOS) automation
  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL for testing APIs with complex data queries and mutations.
  • Strong understanding of Web Services, XML, REST, SOAP, JSON      
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience using source control systems such as GIT.
  • Familiarity with testing in Cloud environments like AWS, Azure
  • Experience in in-sprint automation for projects following agile methodology.
