Salesforce has immediate opportunities for software developers who want their lines of code to have significant and measurable positive impact for users, the company’s bottom line, and the industry. You will be working with a group of world-class engineers to build the breakthrough features our customers will love, adopt, and use while keeping our trusted CRM platform stable and scalable. The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality.

Your Impact

As a Lead Engineer, your job responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure robust, scalable, and high-performing features from development to production, setting quality standards and driving reliability.

  • Be accountable for defining and driving software architecture and system capabilities

  • Act as a technical authority, guiding teams and making architectural decisions that balance innovation and risk.

  • Oversee agile ceremonies, release planning, and align with product stakeholders to set and meet technical commitments.

  • Engage with customers to understand needs, ensuring trust and quality are embedded in every solution.

  • Uphold and advance engineering standards for security, scalability, accessibility, and fault tolerance.

  • Facilitate integration of solutions across teams, supporting seamless interoperability.

  • Drive process and quality improvements for efficient, high-quality deliveries.

  • Support the team’s engineering excellence by performing code review, mentoring team members, and providing technical guidance to the team

  • Clearly communicate strategies, project status, and technical solutions to stakeholders.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Industry experience: 8 to 20 years of software development experience, including:

    • Expertise in designing, implementing and operating large scale distributed systems in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP or Azure)

    • Experience building services with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Spinnaker

    • Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, Configuration management and Infrastructure as a code (IaC)

  • Programming: Proficiency in object-oriented programming in Go-lang,Java and Python

  • System Design & Architecture: Expertise in designing complex, distributed systems with high reliability and performance

  • Agile: Experience with Agile development methodology

  • Technical Leadership: Proven track record in leading technical initiatives and mentoring team members.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Skilled in solving complex technical issues and providing strategic solutions.

  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent field

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Security: Strong fundamentals knowledge in security concepts: authentication/authorization frameworks (e.g., SSO, SAML, Oauth), secure transport (e.g., SSL, TLS), identity management (e.g., certificates, PKI)

  • Platform development: Proven track of designing and coding large-scale PaaS or IaaS systems.

  • Big Data: Proficiency and experience with relational and NoSQL databases, message queues (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc), Splunk and other components in data pipelines

  • MLOps: Experience with MLOps or deploying machine learning models in production.

  • Good knowledge with network technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS or load balancer.
