Information about the position 

As our new Backend Engineer, you will be part of the Experimentation team.We are responsible for developing the feature flags and experimentation tools used throughout the entire Vinted company. Unfamiliar with feature flags or experimentation? No problem! Only a few companies manage to successfully scale feature flags & experimentation company-wide, and we are aiming to be one of them. With your help, we can make it happen!

In this role, you will develop software and provide essential tools for our feature flags & experimentation platform. Your work will be crucial to building a fast, scalable, and reliable infrastructure that supports it. You will enable our product engineering teams to execute experiments and rollout new features that will help Vinted innovate at new heights. 

In this position, you’ll 

• Build a world-class feature flags & experimentation platform loved by decision scientists, software engineers and product managers
• Design, develop & maintain various applications & APIs for the feature flags & experiment’s configuration self-service
• Automate the out of everything—any part of designing, setting up, running, and wrapping up an experiment that can be automated, is automated
• Work with Go, Python & Ruby applications and various data warehouse technologies
• Take ownership and write clean, easy-to-understand code, and contribute to the team’s scientific and data software
• Monitor the performance (through Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus) of our feature flags & experimentation platform components & services and look for opportunities to improve it
• Grow and use the opportunity to learn and share new knowledge in the experimentation field
• Collaborate closely with the Data Science group to bring them continuous improvements and take our experimentation capabilities to a new level

About you 

• A curious individual who wants to learn and master concepts and technologies we use 
• Knowledge of agile, DevOps & Automation – testing, build, deployment, CI/CD, etc.
• Hands-on work experience in the development of operations at scale
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving and results-oriented mindset 
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Advantage: Experience building data platforms
• Advantage: Prior experience working with Google Cloud Platform
• Advantage: Solid software engineering skills, particularly relating to data engineering and especially Python

The salary range for this position is € 3,558 – € 4,808 gross per month.
