About the Role: 

Altium is looking for talented, motivated individuals to join our new Data Engineering team. Based out of our Cambridge, UK offices, you will be reporting to the Head of Data Engineering and will be responsible for helping develop and maintain our estate of data queries, reports and dashboards. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of data at Altium.

This opportunity is hybrid – we would like to meet you in our office twice a week (we are located at Cambridge Science Park).

A Day in The Life of an Altium BI Analyst: 

As a member of our core analytics team, you will be able to contribute to the design, development and maintenance of all aspects of our data reporting infrastructure. This will include (but not be limited to) the following key areas:

  • Building and maintaining queries, reports and dashboards
  • Assisting Data Engineering in building and validating data pipelines
  • Working with business teams (in particular Product, Marketing, Finance teams), helping them define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of their BI requirements
  • Writing and maintaining documentation on our estate of data models and their associated dashboards

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:

  • Degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subject
  • 5+ years working as data analyst / business intelligence specialist
  • Experience in working with modern data warehouse solutions (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Strong familiarity with SQL
  • Have hands-on experience with testing data quality
  • Experience in building dashboards and/or reports (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
