8fig is looking for an experienced BI Data Engineering manager to join our team!

As our BI Data manager , you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and infrastructure. You will work closely with the different teams, guide our Data Analysts and manage a Data Engineer to build and maintain internal data solutions for analysts across all departments (Product, Operations, Risk/Collection, Customer Success, Sales). You’ll ensure that our data pipelines are robust, reliable, and deliver actionable insights to drive the company’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Management: Oversee the migration of operational databases to Redshift using AWS DMS, orchestrate jobs with Airflow, and implement DBT for creating analysis-ready datasets.
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the data strategy aligned with 8fig’s business goals.
  • Data Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain internal data cubes, ensuring data is accessible and visualized through QuickSight and Superset.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively gather requirements from C-level executives and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Team Development: Mentor the company’s Analysts, lead the Data domain and develop your team.
  • Financial Expertise: Leverage your strong financial background to provide valuable insights and support financial decision-making.

Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive experience in data engineering, data analytics, BI, ETL.
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience with AWS DMS, Redshift, Airflow, Airbyte and DBT. Proficiency in data visualization tools like QuickSight and Superset.
  • Financial Background: Strong financial knowledge is a significant advantage.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing small teams.

Communication Skills: Excellent ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders.
