About the project

We are looking for a Data Pipeline engineer to join our team to work with us on an Enterprise Data Platform project.

As part of the project, we create data pipelines based on various datasets with different kind of data sources. The development takes place within the framework of Enterprise Data Platform.

Teamwork, transparency, and clear communication is key in this project, as the candidate will work in a multi-team environment, getting tasks, prioritization, and information from the client’s squad lead.

How we work

At Starschema there are multiple smaller teams working on different parts of the project. The Core Framework team is building the engine while the pipeline engineering teams developing data pipeline using the pre-built framework. Along with the internal teams, we collaborate to provide value to the stakeholders and fulfill business requirements.

A virtual machine is provided to access client’s internal protected systems, like Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.

Job Description

As a Data Pipeline engineer, you will bring business value for our client in data pipeline development and will supervise the deployment process of your software module integrations. You will mostly use technologies like SQL, GIT, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow but occasionally you can encounter with Python as well.

What will You do:

  • communicate with the management about business requirements
  • implement SQL logic into dbt config files based on provided data model
  • test data models and debug dbt and Airflow logs
  • take part in the daily stand-ups, grooming sessions, and plannings
  • deploy pipeline elements/configs into DEV/pre-PROD/PROD environment

Qualifications

We want to hear from you if You have:

  • 3-5 years of  experience
  • Knowledge of SQL 
  • excellent English communication skills 
  • excellent problem-solving skills
  • nice to have if you have experience with
    • Snowflake
    • Dbt
    • Airflow
    • Git or other version controlling system(s)
    • CI/CD pipelines

Start Date: The sooner the better, but if you currently work somewhere and have a notice period, it is still fine, we will wait for the right person! 

Selection process

1.       Phone conversation with one of our recruiters – We will briefly talk about your motivation and experience and we will switch to English for a few questions.

2.       Online test via Hackerrank – You will have to fill out our SQL test that takes 1.5 – 2 hours.

3.       Video interview with the experts on the teamThey will tell you more about the Data Engineering role at Starschema, and you will also talk about your professional background.
