About Us
The Automated Conversion and Document Creation (ACDC) team at Springer Nature, Pune is responsible for delivering solutions related to Journals and Production Systems for Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM Publishers) and Education Publishers around the world. Our teams incorporate latest technologies built upon .Net, C#, Python, Machine Learning to streamline and automate manuscript submission processes (Peer Review process), production workflows, and maintain metadata for our customers; this helps our customers to continuously improve their business response time and revenue stream. Every project is implemented in a distributed agile environment while continuously collaborating with customers stationed at various locations around the world.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They will work closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements, while ensuring that business objectives are translated into clear, actionable tasks for the development team.
Role Responsibilities:
As part of an Agile product team, day-to-day you will:
- Take part in our daily stand-ups.
- Facilitate and contribute to ceremonies like planning, story writing, collaborative design and retrospectives.
- Work with stakeholders to understand our goals & vision, and identify business needs
- Pair with quality analysts and user experience designers to write user stories that are clear, concise and comprehensible
- Communicate to the development team how the requirements are aligned with the business needs and “big picture” goals and vision
- Collaborate and provide business analysis support to the product owner, business sponsors, SMEs and testers during development
- Identify and resolve issues with missing stories and conflicting requirements
- Unearth the root cause(s) of pain points, and validate business opportunities and problems
- Prioritise competing demands and obtaining buy-in from stakeholders
- Map, analyse and validate information flows within a complex organisational setting
- Analyse and capture processes in order to replicate, optimise or re-engineer (recognise pain-points, duplication or repetition and provide recommendations to eliminate).
- Facilitate workshops with a wide range of diverse stakeholders in the business
- Champion business analysis best practices and principles within the BA community
- Challenge and influence decisions; focusing on customer and business value
What you will be doing
Within 3 Months you will:
- Get the understanding of domain
- Get familiar with the applications and tools
- Build relationship with stakeholders and establish rapport with the team
- Facilitate and contribute to ceremonies like planning, story writing, collaborative design and retrospectives.
- Share your opinions and understanding of building resilient and supportable applications/ systems
By 3-6 months you will:
- Requirement Gathering: Leading or co-leading requirement-gathering sessions, engaging more actively with stakeholders.
- Documenting Requirements: Preparing user stories, business requirements documents (BRDs), and functional requirement documents (FRDs).
- Refining Requirements: Working closely with developers and testers to ensure the correct interpretation of requirements.
- Learning Business Processes: Developing a deeper understanding of business workflows, customer needs, and pain points.
- Understanding the Product Roadmap: Gaining insights into the long-term strategy of the product or service.
By 6-12 months you will:
- Taking ownership of specific modules/application, from requirements gathering to delivery
- Building trust with stakeholders and being the go-to person for business requirements and process clarifications
- Analyzing Processes: Identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement in business processes.
- Offering insights and recommendations for process improvements or new solutions.
- Contributing to Roadmaps: Being involved in strategic discussions and helping shape the product roadmap based on business and customer needs.
- Driving Initiatives: Leading initiatives to optimize business processes or improve the quality of deliverables.
- Mentoring Junior BAs: If applicable, providing guidance or mentorship to newer team members or interns.
About you
- Can demonstrate experience of working successfully with teams to deliver software
- Have excellent communication skills and are able to clearly articulate concepts and ideas; from both a technical and a business point of view
- Have a strong focus on high-quality customer experience and sustainable solutions
- Can demonstrate outstanding analytical ability and demonstrable experience of solving complex problems/issues
- Proven experience and the ability to manage and resolve conflict with stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-paced, constantly changing and dynamic environment
- Able to use your drive, creativity and initiative to move the team and organisation forward
- Proven experience of working successfully within Agile teams to deliver software
- Experience in driving continuous improvement and innovation across the team
- Have team-working as a priority and drive constant improvement on collaboration
- Experience in implementation of Best Principles Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery
