Business Application and Data Analyst

We are currently seeking a Business Application and Data Analyst in Dubai, UAE to join our Business Application team to support our pioneering Manufacturing Operations systems and contribute to our Digital Transformation and automation journey. Provide IT technical and functional expertise in the design, planning, testing and implementation of high quality local and global IT systems solutions and business applications. Take ownership for supporting and developing manufacturing applications in a fast-paced and expanding production environment. Support the strategic Digital Transformation and Intelligent Automation direction for future Business Systems!

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1 Business Application:

• Perform ongoing support of implemented systems, including training new users, keeping documentation updated, solving issues, and regression testing. 
• Develop new and maintain existing Business Applications following Emerson IT standard. 
• Support Global Manufacturing System (GMS) software.
• Perform Monthly GMS updates at both the MEA sites.
• Create functional and design specifications for application software in collaboration with internal customers.
• Prepare proper documentation of application software.
• Provide business analysis support to MEA factories and business system testing, system improvements and documentations.
• Maintain MEA Server infrastructure.
• Perform SQL Server upgrades and other maintenance activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
• Collaborate with dynamic team located in different world areas. 
• Actively participate in automation projects and continue to drive the automation culture within Operation team.
• Handle daily business application and BI support tickets. 
• Maintain software solutions related to manufacturing and the interfaces between the applications, the ERP system and other manufacturing software. 
• Maintain the existing Business Application and Operation SharePoint site. 
• Perform analysis on business systems, data, and technical issues.

2 Data Analyst:

• Maintain existing Business Intelligence reports hosted on Power BI cloud platform. 
• Handle daily business intelligence support requests and ensures the SLAs are met. 
• Support ongoing Digital Transformation initiatives.
• Maintain the existing MEA data mart to collate and integrate current/historical data from various sources/systems within organization.
• Capture data and conduct analysis in support of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and support in establishing important metrics to measure the effectiveness of business decisions.
• Create reports and dashboards for internal teams; Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.

• Good understanding and working knowledge of SQL Server and Data analytics. 

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or equivalent (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or similar)
• Ability to provide support throughout the development lifecycle of business applications.
• 2+ years of experience in developing software using any one of the following object-oriented programming langue (C#, C++, JAVA)
• Proven command of Microsoft productive tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, Power Automate)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Functional expertise in one or more business areas (Distribution, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance). Manufacturing application experience is a clear advantage. 
• Exposure to system implementation projects, through direct participation or project management. 
• Experience in using ERP/integrated business systems solutions and exposure to the latest Digital transformation trends; Cloud applications, API platforms, Intelligent Process Automation, and Analytics. 
• Experience with Oracle database. 
• Additional software skills such as Power BI, Git for version control, Windows Server administration, ASP. Net MVC, Python, SharePoint, Redgate SQL Toolbelt and Azure DevOps
