We’re looking for a business data analyst to join our ranks. The business data analyst will be responsible for fulfilling SQL data requests for the business and utilize the knowledge gained to identify business requirements for the future self-service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing SQL queries and integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity
- Evaluating user requests and directs them to COE self-service reports when applicable, walking the user through the steps to get to the data they need
- Working collaboratively with business users, the Data & Analytics team, and IT to understand data needs, data governance decisions, identify requirements for buildout of self-service reporting environment
- Analyzing report requests to identify legacy location of source data, maps source to target, documents additional logic to prepare technical requirements
- Validating data elements loaded into enterprise data warehouse
- Submitting business data requests to vendor’s data team on behalf of the business users as needed and monitor to fulfillment
Core Strengths and Skills
- Proficiency in SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in a Finance or Information Systems-related field
- Financial Services experience a plus
- Familiarity with data models, databases, data warehouses, and data querying
- Ability to communicate business and technical information to people of various backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong initiative, work ethic, ambition to drive for results, and ability to operate with ambiguity
