Role Summary & Role Description
Chief Data Office (CDO) – Global Technology Solutions at State Street has a mandate to govern and report on data health across the enterprise. CDO is rolling out multiple initiatives and operating model changes to execute these initiatives and generate value for our internal and external clients.
We are looking for qualified candidates with experience primarily focused on data analysis while delivering insights and storyboards through analytic platforms. The incumbent should also have an active history of data analytics and storytelling techniques, creating analytical data models from various data sources, formats and data structures. Candidates who understand that data “speaks to you” through the analytic lifecycle are of strong interest. This candidate should also understand data management principles and must have high exposure to Tableau, through various projects.
Work you’ll do:
- Requirements Analysis for data projects, focused towards data models at source and target applications
- Sample/export data from multiple source systems on different technical platforms(via SQL queries/TOAD etc)
- Analyze a variety of data sources/formats, document required transformations and controls on the data elements to be fit for analytical data lakehouses or data warehouses
- Investigate, analyses, report and recommend remediations on data quality issues
- Develop user stories, business and data procedures, source to target mappings, DQ rules and related documentation for the data products being developed [including operations, user guides, functional specs etc.]
- Develop visualizations on tools like Powerpoint, Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, Looker to create business KPI dashboards, storyboards
- Proactively communicate with data management team members, business users and technical team along the project lifecycle , understanding the impacts that may have on downstream reports, analytical models and data product/process deliverables
- Deliver in complex deadline-oriented environment and multi-task on multiple projects concurrently with little supervision.
Core/Must have skills
- Data Requirements Analysis from structured and unstructured data sources
- Expertise on Visualization tool – at least 1 of Tableau, PowerBI, Looker
- SQL experience and advanced database design, querying, stored procedures, views, joins, performance management, etc.
- Excellent communication, articulation and stakeholder management skills
Good to have skills
- Knowledge on data governance processes and tools like Collibra
