CCCSE, a service and research initiative in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin, provides important information about effective educational practices in community colleges, delivering critical information about student experience. CCCSE assists institutions and policymakers in using survey results to promote improvements in student learning, persistence, and attainment. This position is fixed term, and the expected end date is December 31, 2025, with the
possibility of the renewal and the extension of the appointment depending on funding and performance.

Purpose
The successful candidate will work with a team analyzing and summarizing data for a new survey for student engagement among dual enrollment community college students. Additional responsibilities include data management and development of dashboards for an interactive graphical presentation of survey results. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain complete and detailed documentation for all assigned projects. Other duties include providing support for team members, analysis of CCCSE data for conference presentations and publication in peer-reviewed journals, participation in writing national reports, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, ensuring it is ready for analytical use.

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate key trends and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Perform ad hoc analyses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors in a relevant field such as statistics, computer science, or data analytics.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience programming in SAS, Python, R, or SPSS.

  • Minimum of two (2) of experience in data visualization and dashboard development using PowerBI, Python, R, or Tableau.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Experience working with large data sets.

  • Experience with quantitative data analysis.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in teams as well as independently.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of extracting and transforming data.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience with data visualization, preferably Python or Power BI.

Salary Range

$60,000 + depending on qualifications
