Job Description

Lightspeed is looking to add to its rapidly growing Capital team. We are looking for someone with an analytical mind, who loves to problem solve and build reports + dashboards to join our Capital Analytics Team. 

The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing data to provide actionable insights for our organization. This role involves gathering, interpreting, and visualizing data from various sources to help inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth. You will work closely with business stakeholders to properly capture their reporting needs and convert them into actionable insights.

Please note: You are required to work 3 days/week in the MONTREAL office for this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into business trends.
  • Identify and interpret patterns and trends in complex datasets to uncover opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
  • Build report-building interfaces using LookML and SQL to enable business users to have access to their own data and be able to answer their business questions. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in clear and concise reports or presentations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • Experience with BI tooling.
  • Ability to break down complex business problems into understandable, actionable business insights using reports and data visualizations. 
  • Experience writing SQL for data modelling.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses is an asset.
  • Experience with Capital products is an asset. 
  • Experience with Python is an asset.
  • A good understanding of the modern data stack, data pipelines and data architecture is an asset. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
