About the Role:

The Civil Infrastructure Solutions (CIS) Sector of Trimble, the leader in the growing market for productivity, quality, safety, and sustainability solutions for the worldwide civil construction market, is in search of a highly motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst with strong analytical and data engineering skills. The BI Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision making within the CIS sector. By extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data from various sources, the analyst will provide actionable insights that enable strategic planning, optimize business processes, and enhance overall performance. The role involves working closely with cross functional teams to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, ultimately contributing to CIS’ growth and competitiveness. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide data analytics support for the Marketing, Product, Sales, and Finance teams to translate internal and external data sets into relevant business insight through building reports and applications in BI tools 

  • Ability to own and lead the design and development of dashboards/prototype reports, ad-hoc communications and presentations that meet the business needs including progress reports, variance analysis and benefit realization summaries.

  • Optimize existing reporting processes to increase speed, allow new insights, and align with the larger Trimble reporting structure.   

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on source datasets and definitions and determine how to store and report on synthesized data

  • Develop and maintain BI data architecture to show existing data in new ways and connect data between systems to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and insights 

  • Create and maintain documentation of tools and data sources

  • Oversee data auditing to ensure data integrity and accuracy of reports

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years work experience in BI, business, finance, or related fields

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related area, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Domo) and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce)

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and follow through in attending to user needs

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback. 

  • Tells stories with numbers. Can work with disparate and voluminous datasets and diverse business GTM models and synthesize them into a common theme

  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors, and others

  • Handles confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and sound judgment

  • Well-organized, self-directed team player.  Remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things

  • General understanding of company wide business practices and reporting needs, and how to integrate those into BI applications

  • Strong MS/Google Office skills (Excel/Google Sheets, Word, and PowerPoint). 

  • Experience in Salesforce, SQL, Domo or Power BI 

  • “Roll up the sleeves” self-starter with the ability to both dig into the details and think strategically
