As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Velocity Risk, you will play a crucial role in driving our business growth and profitability through data-driven insights. You will collaborate closely with Claims, Product, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Distribution teams to develop and maintain strategic reporting initiatives that support our workflow, procedures, and best practices. You will play a pivotal part in contributing to our culture of innovation and automation, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement. 

What You’ll Do

• Performing critical analyses of data, looking for insights, improvements and efficiencies that can be translated into underwriting and claims strategic advantages and business decisions. 

• Building dashboards or tools for other teams utilizing Tableau. 

• Utilize both internal and external data sources to identify trends and opportunities. 

• Satisfying reporting requirements for departments such as claims required for core business operations. 

• Automating manual tasks utilizing Python and SQL

• Quantitative and Data Analytics Expertise – Exceptional command over numbers, statistics, data analytics and data visualization 

• Analytical Reasoning and Problem Solving – Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous pricing challenges and devise data-backed, actionable solutions. 

• Communication – Clearly articulate complex topics to non-technical audiences in both written and oral form 

• Attention to Detail – Exceptional focus on accuracy and data integrity 

• Organization and Prioritization – Strong time management and multitasking abilities. 

• Collaborative Spirit – The knack for working well in teams, building camaraderie, and influencing others. 

What You’ll Need

• Proficiency in SQL and Python 
• Proficiency with Tableau and/or PowerBI 
• Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus, but not required 
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel is a plus 
• Prior Insurance experience is a plus, but not required 
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics) or Certification/Specialty coursework is welcomed
