Position Overview:
A Business Intelligence Developer uses technical and analytic skills in partnership with business stakeholders to research, predict and solve existing business problems. They will leverage their analytic skills throughout the entire end to end reporting process. This includes advising on KPI and metric design choices, developing requirements, governance, data quality, creating data sets, creating dashboards, data analysis and support. Candidates will be proficient in Microsoft Power BI, SQL, SSIS, and general data architecture. Additional experience with Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Cosmos, and restful APIs is preferred.
Responsibilities:

Uses Microsoft Power BI to create certified datasets, and KPI dashboards.

Guides partners in the design of dashboards that drive process improvements and automation.

Acts as a data governance champion, and actively works to improve consistency, visibility and documentation across the organization.

Represent the organization as a data expert, including the ability to talk to data analysis results in small group meetings.

Assist super users with performance tuning, best practices, and modifications to existing reports.

Creates technical design documentation in adherence to business, source system, target report, and data quality requirements.

Participate in the creation data sets for use across the organization and with 3rd part vendors using APIs and topics. 8. Exhibits work consistent with the software development lifecycle, including Agile and Kanban.

Works with end users to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Produces thorough technical design documents, test plans and documented results.

Education and Experience Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a technology-focused or Engineering-related field, or an equivalent combination of experience.

3+ years recent experience developing and implementing reporting-based solutions using any reporting platform(s).

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Power BI.

Intermediate level proficiency with SQL (Both DDL and DML).
-
Experience designing database models in support of reporting environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Experience with Data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Azure SQL DW, and Redshift
-
Experience with JSON, API calls, and Databricks.

Experience with Python or Spark.

Experience using SQL, T-SQL stored procedures, T-SQL functions; and/or an Oracle Environment using SQL Plus and PL/SQL Coding Languages

Familiarity with complex SQL Server scaling concepts (AlwaysOn, Geo-Scaling, Sharding, Large Scale Database Management)
-
Experience with legacy technologies such as SSIS and Tableau.

Knowledge of Load and Performance test practices
-
Preferred knowledge in: Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory

Verbal/written communication skills.

Pay Ranges$79,175.00 – $131,958.00
This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
