Job Description
The position of Business Intelligence & Reporting Manager will be based out of our Dallas, TX location!
Summary
The Business Intelligence & Reporting Manager is responsible for building and leading a high-performing reporting and analytics team consisting of report developers (Power BI, Domo, etc.) to build data structures and reports that meet the data analytics needs of the business. Will work with the business leaders and users to understand reporting requirements, determine the data structures needed to support the need, and collaborate with the data team as required. Must assign report creation tasks to the development team, provide guidance as needed, and be responsible for the team’s delivery of accurate/high quality reports.
What You’ll Do
- Manage all deliverables of the reporting team, and assign report development tasks to team members to meet the priorities and timeline commitments of the business
- Ensure that the reporting team is agile, highly responsive, and aligned to the business needs of the organization
- Work with business representatives to determine business need and reporting requirements
- Provide technical guidance to the team on data structures and approach to meet reporting requirements
- Build an optimal reporting and analytics architecture to fulfill the reporting and analytics needs
- Certify that the team is adhering to development standards and reports are adequately tested
- Ensure the stability, quality, and uptime of the reporting platform
- Manage the team’s responses to production issues, reported problems, and feedback in a timely fashion
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of the environment and operational processes
- Lead collaboration efforts with the data team on data layer requirements and approach
- Provide frequent and candid feedback to team members for personal growth and develop a high-performing team
- Work closely with team members to encourage them to communicate, share, and implement best practices

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data & Analytics or related field
- 10+ years of experience designing and implementing reporting and analytics solutions
- 5+ years of experience in a technical Team Leader or Management position
- Experience leading/guiding teams to deliver high quality reports and analytics to meet business priorities
- Experience working and leading others in a fast-paced development environment
- Report and analytics development experience (preferably PowerBI, Domo) and creating reporting data sets
- Database development experience (Data Modeling, SQL)
- Experience in direct collaboration with business representatives to understand and translate requirements
- Agile/Scrum experience a plus

- Ability to effectively motivate and lead a team to deliver on commitments
- Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and external teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple projects and issues to have the team meet deadlines and focus on the most critical deliverables
- Ability to work collaboratively with business leaders/representatives on requirements, and understand many different business areas/functions
