What you’ll do:
The Business AI team inside of the Office of the CEO is a technical center of excellence which delivers core AI capabilities for consumption by product teams and organizations across all of SAP. We build the latest in AI/ML technologies including applications leveraging large language models as well as AI/ML features for the business applications space.
The team seeks to make all business applications intelligent. We build out new lighthouse applications using AI/ML, bring these capabilities into existing applications, and empower all of SAP, customers and partners with ML services on SAP’s cloud platform.
As the Chief AI Scientist expert within the team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data strategy, driving innovation, and delivering actionable insights that drive business growth. You will work across many teams, helping drive strategic architecture decisions, built rapid prototypes, and drive incubation initiatives to production by working in cross-functional teams.
What you bring:
Required:
- Minimum of 10+ years of post-graduate, international professional experience in research and/or software development
- Extensive knowledge of Generative AI and large language models
- Extensive experience architecting large scale cloud offerings, with understanding of both AI, Machine Learning and Software Engineering concepts
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or Scala, along with experience working with data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor cross-functional teams.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 233200 – 396400(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
