Requirements
Chief Data Architect
Location: Home / London (Hybrid)
6 Month Contract (Inside IR35)
We are looking to recruit a Chief Data Architect for Civica’s Consultancy Services Team. This is an initial 6 month contract and the Chief Data Architect will play a pivotal role in setting the vision for our customers data utilisation and ensuring that data designs align seamlessly with enterprise needs.
Due to the nature of the work advanced knowledge of Sparx and valid SC Clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Design:
- Oversee the design of multiple data models, showcasing a broad understanding of how each model fulfils organizational needs.
- Ensure alignment with the organization’s data strategy and champion data architecture internally and across government channels.
Leadership and Governance:
- Commission and lead the development of enterprise data artifacts, expanding our Data Architecture Framework.
- Lead governance forums on data artifact assurance and develop the organization’s data strategy.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of core and project data architects, ensuring sustained quality against established standards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise and Solution Architecture to ensure projects and programs align with enterprise needs.
Standards and Representation:
- Develop Data Standards for the organization, including data modelling and relevant templates and guidance.
- Represent the organization at cross-government forums and sub-groups, influencing data discussions at the highest levels.
Essential Competencies:
Data Expertise:
- Proficiency in data modelling, governance, and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Sparx EA is crucial.
- Familiarity with metadata, repositories, and various modelling notations (UML, Dimensional, NoSQL, Data Vault, ORM, Barker Notation).
Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, onboarding new team members and conveying the value of data architecture to stakeholders.
