What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Department of State client in the National Security arena. The candidate will assist the threat teams to include China, Iran, Russia, Counterterrorism, and/or emerging threats as required. The candidate’s responsibilities include planning projects, leveraging large volumes of data across sources in a variety of forms, and building analytics models and data visualization tools. You should have a strong problem-solving ability, a knack for statistical analysis, and the ability to align data products with project and client objectives. Communication is an essential factor in a work environment, and it is vital that you convey information effectively, design data visualizations, and present technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
Specific responsibilities included

Formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects and metrics.

Producing and disseminating non-technical written memos that detail methodologies, models’ analyses, and limitations of approaches.

Developing intuitive, attractive, and interactive data visualizations using large data sets to create Tableau dashboards for a diverse set of users with varying technical capabilities

Collecting, transforming, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources

Crafting automation techniques for data collection, transformation, cleaning, and validation

Developing and maintaining data governance documentation, tools, and templates
-
Requesting, documenting, reporting, and analyzing implementing partner data, and, where applicable, creating tools and resources to support implementing partner data and reporting
What You Will Need:
-
An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
-
Bachelor’s Degree
-
Four (4) years of experience working with data
What Would Be Nice To Have:
-
Advanced degree in information science, data science, sociology, political science, or something similar
-
3+ years experience as a Data Scientist or similar role
-
3+ years of project management experience in data-centered projects
-
3+ years in consulting or similar client-facing role
-
3+ years experience with Tableau or PowerBI dashboards
-
Excellent organizational and written communication skills; capability to clearly and succinctly define problems and outline solutions
-
2+ years applying statistical techniques such as regression, ANOVA, cluster analysis, factor analysis, time series forecasting, experimental design, etc
-
1+ experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
-
Experience working with the Department of State
