Job Description

Brief Posting Description:

As a Cloud Data Architect, you will be responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and managing software and data programs in the cloud. You will serve as the technical expert, this role will identify and develop areas for modification in existing programs, as well as test and evaluate new programs. You will also collaborate with business partners and other technical teams across the organization to deliver proposed solutions.

 

Detailed Description:

  • Manage the evaluation, identification, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Define, document and record designs and modifications of application or software.
  • Locate and direct solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface.
  • Identify and resolve failures within existing and newly developed software systems and programs.
  • Design real-time and batch system interfaces and data enrichment pipelines in a cloud-native data ecosystem.
  • Guide through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) and provide customer technical support solution analysis and design, balancing technical and business aspects.
  • Troubleshoot production issues of all levels and severities, tracks progress from identification through resolution and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Work with IT leadership and business partners to design features for the cloud platform.

 

Job Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

7 years required; 8 – 10 years preferred experience in a lead development role. 

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree – Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

 

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expertise working with databases and SQL.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring small or mid-sized teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Databricks
  • Strong working knowledge of code management and continuous integrations systems (Azure DevOps or Github preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud relational databases (Azure Synapse and Azure SQL preferred)
  • Hands on experience supporting development/deployment of ML pipelines and workflows is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MLOps-related tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, or Airflow preferred.
  • Experience with handling non-traditional data (unstructured data, synthetic data, external data, feature stores etc.) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (such as CosmosDB) preferred.
  • Any experience with Python, DAX, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, IoT technologies, PowerBI, Power Apps, SSIS, Informatica, Teradata, Oracle DB, and Snowflake preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
